The long awaited Dar es Salaam Bus Rapid Transport (BRT)services are set to commence on January 10, next week, it has been revealed.

The remarks were made by Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa during his inspection of the different stations to witness the final stages ready for the services to begin.

The Premier further urged TAMISEMI executives to manage well and fast track the project so that operations can start as soon as possible as planned.

Already 120 buses have already arrived and awaits the completion of the construction of the stations.

Majaliwa started his inspection tour at Ferry, then went ont to Jangwani, and Kimara and ended at Morocco.

He applauded the completion of 15 stations out of 27 which are be constructed and urged  other stages to be completed as soon as possible so that on January 10, next year all buses can start providing services to people.

The BRT has been marketed as friendly to environment especially in reducing emission carbon gases which are harmful to human beings, animal and plants.

According to UDA-RT Spokesperson, Mr. Sabri Maburuki, the buses that have already arrived include those with 12 meters (101) and 18 meters long (39).
