Mgosi: ‘I respect coach’s decision’

 

SIMBA skipper and striker Musa Hassan Mgosi says he is unfazed to be left out of the first choice squad in the Mainland soccer league that comes to an end early next month.

Mgosi who used to be Simba’s talismanic striker during his glorious days says he is respecting decisions taken by coach Jackson Mayanja whether to field or leave him to warm the bench.
“As a player you have to respect coach’s decision because he is the one who knows fitness and form of all players’ says Mgosi. The season comes to and Mgosi is still looking for his first goal of the season amid short playing time.
Coach Mayanja has picked him several times to feature in league matches but the playing time has in most cases been short.
However, Mayanja has been using Mgosi to help him in supervising practice sessions/ Mgosi rejoined samba from Mtibwa Sugar at the beginning of the season but has endured torrid moment due to stiff competition in the team’s forward line.
The likes of Hamis Kiiza, Daniel Lyanga, Ibrahim Ajib and Awadh Juma have always been making difficult to edge out in final squad selection.
However it is not known whether Simba will retain him at the end of the season or adopt him as a technical assistant. The die-hard Simba player was once recruited by Democratic Republic of Congo’s Daring Club Motema Pembe.
During his peak career he won the Mainland premier soccer league’s golden boot award.
